Genpact is seeking entry-level candidates for the role of Management Trainee – Category Manager. Job Description:

  • As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing long-term strategies for the Category team.
  • Your focus will be on project management, strategic sourcing, procurement, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • By creating well-structured plans, you will ensure the team consistently delivers value and meets business objectives.
  • A key aspect of this role is to leverage business growth and market share to optimize the inbound supply chain.
  • This includes ensuring strong supplier performance through continuous monitoring and improvement initiatives.
  • You will lead efforts to enhance the supply chain's efficiency and drive improvements in how suppliers contribute to business success.
  • In this role, you will also build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. These partnerships will be essential for driving value engineering projects that not only improve operational efficiency but also ensure that customer needs are at the heart of every decision.

Required Qualification, skills:
  • The ideal candidate for this role will have strong proficiency in contract law, contract management, strategic sourcing, and supplier management, with a deep understanding of value chain best practices.
  • Your expertise will include developing and managing supplier relationships, ensuring that contracts are optimized for the best possible outcomes, and adhering to legal and commercial standards in procurement.
  • You will have practical experience in buying and hedging commodity materials, where you will manage risks and navigate fluctuating market conditions.
  • Additionally, you will be adept at managing the full spectrum of e-RFI/RFQ processes and conducting competitive auctions, helping to secure favorable terms for the business.
  • Your specialized knowledge in indirect sourcing will be essential in managing non-core procurement categories, ensuring that the company achieves cost efficiencies while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
  • Experience working in the Australian market and familiarity with contract management using Ariba will be an added advantage.
  • These skills will allow you to navigate regional procurement challenges effectively while leveraging tools like Ariba to streamline contract management processes, ensuring compliance and value-driven outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Strong understanding of procurement transformation initiatives and spend optimization programs like Zero-Based Budgeting.
  • Holds a bachelor's and master's degree, preferably from Tier 1 business schools.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
